Why we made this:

Way back in the beginning our good friends at The Good Food Collective asked us for a peppermint tea. And their cafe is not just any cafe, so they needed more than just any peppermint tea. Peppermint tea has always been known for its ability to soothe headaches & reduce stress & is without doubt a pantry staple. It’s also the first herbal tea on most cafes’ menus. Frankly though, we felt it was perhaps getting by on its reputation – resting on its laurels somewhat. In short, it was capable of MORE. So, we introduced peppermint to some other ingredients and waved a virtual magic wand. The result is a tea that will see you through the day like a superhero & in the midst of the office madness you will be the enviable calm in the storm.

Health Benefits:

From a base of Peppermint, the addition of Spearmint & Lemon Verbena not only added to the fresh, clean palate. It dramatically increased the antioxidant, anti-inflammatory & antimicrobial count, improving the ability to fight illness & infection, strengthen the immune system & decrease stress while increasing alertness. A winning combination. Spearmint offers high vitamin A and C counts, along with calcium, potassium & magnesium among other trace elements. Lemon Verbena’s antioxidant count is comparable to that of green tea. We added chamomile for its honey-like taste, (along with its calming qualities & immune support) & a dash of liquorice & rose for nourishing sweetness.

Brewing & Serving instructions:

As always, we love to warm the pot a little prior to brewing. One generous teaspoon of Sweet Clarity per person & one for the pot for good measure. Pour boiling water over, wrap the pot in a tea cosy (or a tea towel) & allow to brew for 5-8 minutes. A fabulous start to your morning, this is also lovely to serve with an afternoon tea to cut through the sweetness of a chocolate brownie, or to keep you going when that work assignment demands some after-hours attention.
